Inter look set to battle with AC Milan for the signature of Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga.
The Nerazzurri are in the same boat as their city rivals in terms of needing a new defender to add some depth to that part of the squad.
For that reason, as reported by the print edition of Corriere della Sera, they are very keen on bringing the 23-year-old English defender to the club given that Tottenham are clearly open to letting him leave.
For Inter, it is a case of replacing the depth that Andrea Ranocchia gave. He joined Monza after his contract expired and now they are a player short at the back.
Milan are in the same situation after Alessio Romagnoli joined Lazio at the end of his contract with Stefano Pioli’s side. The issue for both teams is that Tottenham will want the buyer to have an obligation to buy the defender at the end of the loan.
AS Roma interested in Inter target Tanganga
A third Serie A team are also in the picture for Tanganga and that is AS Roma. They want an extra defensive option and they may have one advantage over both Milan sides.
Jose Mourinho was the manager that brought Tanganga through at Spurs when he was in charge and the pair have a good relationship.
