Marco Asensio is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, with Serie A rivals AC Milan and Juventus ready to compete for his signature in the summer. The Spain international is out of contract next year and would be available on a free transfer.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Asensio has decided to end his stay at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and has been linked with a shock move to bitter rivals Barcelona, but has suitors from across Europe.

Milan have been long-term admirers of the 26-year-old winger and could push to convince him to move to Italy, whilst Juventus are also thought to be keen, but neither side are amongst the frontrunners to land him.

Asensio, who has been part of Real Madrid‘s first team since 2016, may look elsewhere despite the interest from Serie A, and Barcelona remain the favourites.

Premier League interest grows

Meanwhile, the former Real Mallorca player has been garnering interest from England, with a host of Premier League clubs hoping to bring him in.

Manchester United and Liverpool have been joined by London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in enquiring about Asensio, but the most serious interest has come from Newcastle United.

Asensio made his debut for Spain in 2016 and has earned 29 caps, whilst helping his country to a silver medal in the 2020 Olympic Games.
