AC Milan opened their 2023/24 Champions League campaign at the Stadio San Siro with a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United in Group F.
Stefano Pioli‘s side will undoubtedly come away from the game feeling disappointed on many levels. Milan were on top throughout and dominated Newcastle for large periods of the game, though, they failed to capitalise on any of the chances they made.
Eddie Howe also will feel disappointed. Although his side earned a great result away at one of the most intimidating stadiums in Europe, there was little to be happy about aside from the result.
However, for both sides to earn a point on Matchday 1 of Group F, it leaves things all the more open in a competitive group.
