AC Milan have lost hope of signing Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi this summer as the Neroverdi have no incentive to lower their asking price.
As has been reported by Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset today, Sassuolo president Giovanni Carnevali is highly unlikely to budge on the price he has set for Frattesi.
The young midfielder has been linked with Inter, Roma and Milan during the summer and given the latter have missed out on both Renato Sanches and Carney Chukwuemeka this week, the name of Frattesi came back into the picture.
The issue is that Milan do not want to spend any more than €15 million on a new midfielder and Carnevali is still asking for €35 million for Frattesi.
Sassuolo have no need to sell Frattesi
Another issue for the Rossoneri is that Sassuolo have already sold Gianluca Scamacca to West Ham United this summer for €36 million and they are set to sell Giacomo Raspadori too. That means they have no incentive to lower their asking price for Frattesi.
There has not been a suggestion that Frattesi is looking to force a move away from Emilia-Romagna as he has likely been given assurances about a move next summer instead.
It is looking increasingly like that Milan will turn to Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr instead. Another option from the same team is Tanguy Ndombele.
