The retirement of Zlatan Ibrahimovic partnered with disappointing debut seasons with AC Milan from Charles De Ketelaere and Divock Origi has alarm bells sounding at Casa Milan. The Rossoneri know that reinforcements need to be brought in, and it seems as though they will act soon.
With both Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek arriving from Chelsea, Milan’s attention is now turning to signing a No.9. It is well documented that the Rossoneri are in the market for a striker to compete with Olivier Giroud. There is an understanding that the veteran Frenchman cannot play every minute of every game, and they need more depth up top.
Porto’s Taremi is AC Milan’s first choice
Mehdi Taremi, as La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, is the preferred option of those out there for Milan. The Iranian has recently come into conversations in Milan as a player of interest and it seems as though the Rossoneri will be active in pursuit of the striker.
Milan believe that Taremi’s skillset would suit them nicely given his physicality, but above all his goal-scoring record. Although his contract expires next summer, Porto will still demand a fee in the region of €20 million.
However, Taremi’s contractual demands may not be extravagant, which may well convince Milan to meet Porto’s asking price. There has been interest in the forward from Saudi Arabian clubs, but Taremi doesn’t seem interested in cashing in his chips and leaving top-level football just yet, something that plays in Milan’s favour.
Could AC Milan sign Morata or Scamacca?

Alvaro Morata’s name has floated around the Stadio San Siro for what feels like an eternity now, and for good reason. The Spaniard fits the profile of what Milan need this summer: someone with a proven record at a high level and someone who offers something different to Giroud.
Atletico Madrid want a fee close to €20m, with Morata then wanting more than €5m per season on top of that contractually. This is seen as a more complicated deal for Milan to pull of than any move for Taremi.
The third option for the club remains Gianluca Scamacca, the former Sassuolo striker has been out of favour for West Ham United boss David Moyes since making the move to the Premier League in 2022.

As opposed to the other two options for Milan, the Italian likely wouldn’t be available for transfer. The Hammers would prefer a loan deal at this current time and, given the fact that the striker is still young, they aren’t ready to give up on him after just one year.
