Every AC Milan transfer summer 2023: Signings and sales

The 2023 summer transfer window has closed, so let's take a look at exactly which players joined or left AC Milan over the past couple of months.

AC Milan’s attempted title defence never really got going in 2022/23 and Stefano Pioli’s side fell a long way short of getting close to runaway Italian champions Napoli. Their efforts to reinforce last season by bringing in the likes of Divock Origi and Charles De Ketelaere proved disastrous, and they’ll have to start from scratch in the summer transfer market.

Looking to build ahead of the 2023/24 season, Milan will have to do so without Paolo Maldini, with the former director and club legend having been dismissed from his role shortly after the 2022/23 campaign came to an end.

This article will be consistently updated throughout the 2023 summer transfer window to include every AC Milan signing and sale, so save this to your bookmarks and check in on all of the comings and goings from the Rossoneri.

A number of Milan players have returned to the club this summer from their respective loan deals, with Lorenzo Colombo, Mattia Caldara and Daniel Maldini among them.

In terms of signings, Marco Sportiello has arrived to become the second-choice goalkeeper having left Atalanta for free, and they have also landed Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea.

Luka Romero joined for free from Lazio as an exciting prospect, whilst Christian Pulisic joined in a €20m deal from Chelsea.

Spending even more money, Tijjani Reijnders then arrived from AZ Alkmaar for €23 million. He adds another midfield option for Stefano Pioli, further pointing to a 4-3-3 formation in 2023/24. Noah Okafor‘s arrival was confirmed on July 22 and Samuel Chukwueze then followed him in the San Siro entrance on July 27.

Continuing a prolific summer, Milan added Yunus Musah to the squad from Valencia for around €20m.

Sportiello will fill the void left by the outgoing Ciprian Tatarusanu as he leaves on a free transfer, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic has also departed, then deciding to hang up his boots once it was confirmed that he would leave the Stadio San Siro again.

A number of loanees have also left, and some had roles under Pioli last season. Brahim Diaz has returned to Real Madrid, with Sergino Dest, Aster Vranckx and Tiemoue Bakayoko also returning to their respective parent clubs.

Focusing on departures later in the summer, Ante Rebic was sold to Besiktas on a permanent deal.
