The eyes of the world will turn to the Stadio San Siro on Wednesday night when AC Milan and Inter clash in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie, in only the second-ever Derby della Madonnina at this stage of the competition.
Back in 2003, the two Milanese giants played out a goalless draw in the first leg, but the Rossoneri progressed on away goals after a 1-1 draw in the second leg, however, with UEFA removing the rule two seasons ago, there is less reason to fear conceding as the home side.
Although Milan remained in contention for Champions League qualification via their Serie A position with an impressive win over Lazio at the weekend, the Nerazzurri remained two points ahead with an identical 2-0 win over AS Roma, so winning the competition could be their only route back to the top table of European football.
