AC Milan want World Cup star Kolo Muani: Bayern Munich and Manchester United the competition

Eintracht Frankfurt don't want to sell Randal Kolo Muani this winter, but AC Milan are joining Bayern Munich and Manchester United in pursuit of the France star.

Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani has been linked with AC Milan as the Rossoneri look to strengthen the attack at the end of the campaign.

The 24-year-old represented France at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, making three appearances and scoring in the 2-0 victory against Morocco in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, at club level, he has scored five goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances since arriving in Germany from Nantes in the summer.

His recent emergence has caught the eye of AC Milan, who are looking to replace Divock Origi after the Belgian has struggled for fitness since joining from Liverpool. With Olivier Giroud getting older, Zlatan Ibrahimovic being sidelined, and Charles De Ketelaere being tried as a false nine, the Rossoneri need more depth up front.

Eintracht Frankfurt lofty Kolo Muani price tag

According to Tuttosport, AC Milan will have to pay at least €35 million to acquire Kolo Muani from Die Adler and he is contracted to the German club until June 2027. Meanwhile, L’Equipe reports that the Rossoneri should face competition from European rivals Bayern Munich and Manchester United for the French forward.

Although the likes of Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry have been scoring regular for the German giants, they will look to booster the scoring prowess in the post-Robert Lewandowski era. Meanwhile, the Red Devils terminated the contract of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and will look to improve the attack for coach Erik ten Hag.

Plan B for AC Milan is Atalanta starlet Højlund

In case they fail to lure Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt, AC Milan are also assessing Atalanta’s young Danish striker Rasmus Højlund. The 19-year-old arrived in the summer from Austrian club Sturm Graz, and has scored three goals in 13 Serie A matches so far for La Dea.

The Bergamaschi paid €17 million in August for the young Dane, but he has shown signs of potential despite being limited to cameo appearances. Given that he is still new to Italian football and De Ketelaere has had trouble adapting in Serie A, the Danish starlet might be a risky investment for AC Milan.
