AS Roma vs Bologna: Preview, kick-off time and where to watch on TV and online – Serie A 2023/24

AS Roma are looking to close the gap on surprise package Bologna in the race for the top four when they face off in Matchday 33 of Serie A

The race for Champions League qualification heats up when fifth-place AS Roma welcome Bologna in fourth to the Stadio Olimpico in Matchday 33 of Serie A on Monday.

In excellent form since appointing Daniele De Rossi in January, Roma are pushing their way up the table and find themselves four points behind Bologna with a game in hand, following the suspension of their last match against Udinese.

Bologna have been the surprise package this season in Serie A and Thiago Motta‘s side have their sights firmly set on catching Juventus in third, as they seek a first-ever appearance in the Champions League next year.

AS Roma vs Bologna: Predicted line-ups

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma coach Daniele De Rossi has an almost full-strength squad to pick from, but defender Evan Ndicka remains unavailable after collapsing against Udinese, prompting the suspension of the game.

Paulo Dybala and Stephan El Shaarawy are expected to return to the starting line-up and join Romelu Lukaku in attack, with Tammy Abraham set for a place on the bench following a long-term injury. Fellow striker Sardar Azmoun remains sidelined however.

Bologna have been hit by an injury to Lewis Ferguson, with the Scotland international ruled out until the end of the season. Adama Soumaoro is also out injured, but Motta can count on Joshua Zirkzee in attack and ex-Roma man Riccardo Calafiori in defence after impressive campaigns.

Roma defensive trio Diego LlorenteGianluca Mancini and Dean Huijsen are all one booking away from suspension, in addition to Leandro Paredes and Lukaku, whilst Bologna‘s Calafiori and Victor Kristiansen will serve a ban with a yellow card.

AS Roma predicted XI vs Bologna (4-3-3): Svilar; Karsdorp, Mancini, Llorente, Angelino; Bove, Paredes, Pellegrini; Dybala, Lukaku, El Shaarawy.

Bologna predicted XI vs AS Roma (4-1-4-1): Skorupski; Posch, Lukumi, Calafiori, Kristiansen; Freuler; Orsolini, Odgaard, Fabbian, Saelemaekers; Zirkzee.
