AS Roma 1-1 Juventus: Goals, highlights, and report – Serie A 2023/24

AS Roma and Juventus were forced to settle for a draw in Matchday 35 of Serie A, with both sides hitting the woodwork and missing clear chances to snatch a crucial victory

AS Roma and Juventus played out an exciting 1-1 draw in Matchday 35 of Serie A at the Stadio Olimpico, with both sides guilty of glaring misses.

Roma took an early lead as Romelu Lukaku was quickest to react to a parried Lorenzo Pellegrini shot and slotted home. However, Juventus soon hit back when Bremer rose highest to nod home and the Bianconeri came close to taking the lead early in the second half through a wicked Federico Chiesa effort off the post.

Meanwhile, Roma had chances of their own and Rasmus Kristensen‘s shot was headed clear off the line, whilst Pellegrini also saw a low strike turned behind. After Juventus striker Moise Kean missed with a close-range header in stoppage time, Giallorossi counterpart Tammy Abraham was equally guilty as he fired straight at Wojciech Szczesny when clean through.

Ultimately, neither side could force a winner and the draw leaves Juventus in third place, whilst Roma sit in fifth but are only three points clear of Atalanta below them, having played twice more.
