Napoli bounced back from their first defeat of the season in the best way possible by coming from behind in Bergamo to beat Atalanta and pull further clear at the top of the Serie A table in Matchday 13.
Luciano Spalletti saw his Partenopei fall for the first time this term in Liverpool in midweek, so he might have wanted a kinder fixture than a trip to the side who started the weekend as the closest pursuers of Napoli in Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
Ademola Lookman hammered in an early penalty to put Atalanta ahead, and it looked as though Napoli had their work cut out for them at the Gewiss Stadium.
But the Partenopei rallied and came roaring back. Within four minutes of falling behind, Victor Osimhen headed them level. Another 12 minutes passed and they were ahead through Eljif Elmas.
In what was a thrilling game in Bergamo, and in which the hosts played very well, Napoli were able to hold on for three huge points.
