Bayer Leverkusen vs AS Roma: Preview, kick-off time and where to watch on TV and online – Europa League 2023/24

AS Roma must overturn a 2-0 Europa League semi-final first leg deficit against a Bayer Leverkusen that are unbeaten in all competitions this season.

AS Roma must achieve the seemingly impossible and inflict a first defeat of the season on Bayer Leverkusen if they are to reach the final of the Europa League, as the pair meet at the BayArena on Thursday.

Roma fell to a 2-0 defeat against the newly crowned Bundesliga champions in the first leg of their semi-final, and face an uphill task in their bid to reach a second successive final in the competition.

Leverkusen, meanwhile, are yet to taste defeat in a single competitive game this term and are looking to extend their run of matches without a loss to 49.

AS Roma vs Bayer Leverkusen: Predicted line-ups

Roma are sweating on the fitness of Paulo Dybala after he was withdrawn at half-time against Juventus, but coach Daniele De Rossi hopes to have him available in attack alongside Romelu Lukaku and Stephan El Shaarawy.

Gianluca Mancini is expected to return to the starting line-up alongside Evan Ndicka at centre-back, with Mehmet Zeki Celik and Angelino completing the defence.

De Rossi has a full strength squad to choose from and is expected to opt for Leandro Paredes, Bryan Cristante, and Lorenzo Pellegrini in midfield.

Leverkusen also have no injury worries and coach Xabi Alonso had the luxury of resting Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Victor Boniface during last weekend’s 5-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Former Roma striker Patrik Schick could feature from the bench, with Boniface leading the line.

Giallorossi quintet ManciniDean HuijsenParedesSardar Azmoun, and Lukaku are all at risk of suspension for the final with a booking. Meanwhile, Leverkusen pair Edmond Tapsoba and Robert Endrich must also tread carefully.

Bayer Leverkusen predicted XI vs AS Roma (3-4-2-1): Kovar; Kossounou, Tapsoba, Hincapie; Stanisic, Palacios, Xhaka, Grimaldo; Tella, Wirtz; Boniface.

AS Roma predicted XI vs Bayer Leverkusen (4-3-3): Svilar; Celik, Mancini, Ndicka, Angelino; Cristante, Paredes, Pellegrini; Dybala, Lukaku, El Shaarawy.
