Bayern Munich 2-2 AS Roma: Goals, highlights and report – UWCL 2023/24

AS Roma's late goal meant that their Women's Champions League journey for 2023/24 started with an impressive draw away at Bayern Munich.

AS Roma Women struck late on to secure a 2-2 draw away at Bayern Munich on Matchday 1 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The scoring was opened by Bayern Munich after just 20 minutes, which was in keeping with the run of play. Jovana Damnjanovic got it as she bundled in a knockdown from a free-kick. The lead was doubled when Katharina Elisa Naschenweng‘s shot deflected off of two Roma defenders on the stroke of half-time.

Roma got back in it before the hour mark as Evelyne Viens scored after a good pass from Manuela Giugliano. They managed to stay in the game and got their reward with a very late Giugliano strike that made it 2-2.
