Bologna vs Inter: Preview, kick-off time and where to watch on TV and online – Serie A 2023/24

Champions-elect Inter face one of their toughest remaining tests in Serie A with a trip to face the in-form Bologna who want a place in the Champions League.

With one hand on the Serie A title already, Inter travel to the Stadio Renato dall’Ara on Matchday 28 knowing that they will need to be at their best.

Bologna are aiming to complete a successful year against the Nerazzurri, having drawn against them in the league earlier this season and knocked them out of the Coppa Italia.

After a dip in their form at the start of 2024, Bologna are back flying, having won their past six games which included huge victories against Lazio and Atalanta. With every passing game, Champions League qualification seems more feasible, and a strong result against Inter would more than solidify their credentials.

For the visitors, a victory could take them 28 points clear of fifth place, which would all but confirm their place in the Champions League with 10 games to go. It won’t be easy though, as Bologna have the second-best home record in the division (behind Inter).

Bologna vs Inter: Predicted line-ups

After an impressive showing at right-back, Thiago Motta has a decision to make about whether Stefan Posch will keep his starting place against Inter or whether Jhon Lucumi may do better.

Dan Ndoye has not experienced the best spell of form in recent weeks, and with Alexis Saelemaekers back in contention for the Rossoblu, he could start from the first minute.

Simone Inzaghi will make a late decision about Lautaro Martinez‘s striking partner this weekend, with Marcus Thuram close to returning to full fitness. However, if he is not yet ready to start, Marko Arnautovic will play against his former club.

Alessandro Bastoni will return from his suspension and may come into the defence for Carlos Augusto. Additionally, Hakan Calhanoglu will be assessed later this week to determine if he can play.

Bologna predicted XI vs Inter (4-1-4-1): Skorupski; Posch, Beukema, Calafiori, Kristiansen; Freuler; Orsolini, Ferguson, Fabbian, Saelemaekers; Zirkzee.

Inter predicted XI vs Bologna (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, Acerbi, Augusto; Dumfries, Barella, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro.
