After the positives of the win over Malta in the first of the two October fixtures, the Italy Men’s National Team were unable to continue their momentum under Luciano Spalletti, losing 3-1 to England at Wembley in their second and final game of this international window.

Despite Gianluca Scamacca giving the Azzurri a first-half lead over their 2020 European Championship final opponents, the hosts came back and, in the end, picked up three deserved points. The loss leaves Italy in a slightly tricky position, knowing that they face a crunch game with North Macedonia and then Ukraine to qualify for next summer’s 2024 European Championship.

To chat through the loss to England and some other bits as well, Conor Clancy has Kevin Pogorzelski and Euan Burns joining him.
