Well, this should be fun. There is going to be a Derby della Madonnina in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
AC Milan drew 1-1 with Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Tuesday night which was enough to secure a 2-1 aggregate victory and a place in the semi-final which the Rossoneri certainly deserved over the two legs.
The next stage of setting up the Milan derby was complete when Inter, albeit with a dramatic sounding 3-3 draw with Benfica, secured their place. Nicolo Barella’s early goal made it 3-0 on aggregate and despite two late Benfica goals, the Nerazzurri were never likely to be knocked out.
It will be the first time ever that five Milan derbies have been played in a season. We had Conor Clancy at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for Inter’s game and he joined Euan Burns and Kev Pogorzelski to chat about the two matches.
