Fiorentina are into the next round of the Europa Conference League after beating Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Thursday night.
The Italian side fell behind early on but two goals from Luka Jovic secured the victory.
The opener for Istanbul Basaksehir came with a long ball forward that caught the Fiorentina defence napping. Aleksic was on hand to steer it past Pierluigi Gollini.
It did not take too long for La Viola to get level though as Jovic made it 1-1 in the 26th minute. Kouame played a slick ball across the box for the Serbian to poke in at the far post.
It was Jovic again who gave Fiorentina the lead after the break. The striker managed to score a header after Kouame had a chance of his own in the same move.
It is a result that confirms Fiorentina’s place in the next round of the Europa Conference League as Hearts can only move to within four points of them with a win over RFS.
