Fiorentina look set to be taking part in the Europa Conference League semi-finals after a handsome victory over Lech Poznan in Poland.

Fiorentina are continuing their superb form in both Serie A and the cup competitions as they beat Lech Poznan 4-1 in Poland to take full control of the Europa Conference League quarter-final tie.

Vincenzo Italiano’s side have been enjoying their continental experience this season and it seems set to continue barring a remarkable defeat back in Florence next week.

The first goal came from the in-form Arthur Cabral who pounced on the rebound of a Nico Gonzalez shot which hit the post. Lech Poznan grabbed a goal back through Kristoffer Velde but Fiorentina would still go into the break ahead after a good header from Gonzalez made it 2-1.

La Viola played with purpose in the second half and could tell that they had an opportunity to get the tie killed by the halfway point. They doubled the lead through Giacomo Bonaventura when he smashed into the top corner from the edge of the box after a swift counter-attack had broken down.

Just five minutes later, the tie was seemingly put beyond all doubt when Jonathan Ikone carried the ball from the halfway line to the edge of the Lech Poznan box and hit a precise shot into the bottom corner.

Fiorentina’s Europa Conference League adventure

Lech Poznan look set to be added to the list of teams that Fiorentina have made light work of in the Europa Conference League so far this season.

La Viola made it through their group with relative ease but were then drawn against Braga who have been enjoying a good domestic campaign in Portugal. A 4-0 win in Braga quickly put the tie beyond doubt and they sealed the deal in Florence. Sivasspor were next and that tie ended with a 5-1 aggregate win.

Having won 4-1 away at Lech Poznan, they seem on track for another big winning margin on the continent.
