Genoa vs Juventus: Preview, kick-off time and where to watch on TV and online – Serie A 2023/24

A Juventus side flying near the top of the table will travel away to Genoa to face a struggling Grifone side on Serie A Matchday 15.

Juventus will go away to face Genoa on Serie A Matchday 16 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris as they continue to pose a threat to Inter’s scudetto hopes.

The Bianconeri are in second place with 36 points, two behind the Nerazzurri, and they have gone unbeaten in their last 10 matches, winning eight of them. In a fashion typical of their coach Massimiliano Allegri, their style is not one for the neutrals, but it is still effective when it comes to obtaining results in Serie A.

Meanwhile, the Grifone are equal 14th with Sassuolo on 15 points, but they have only won just once in their last five matches, and they lost 1-0 to Monza in the previous round. Despite that, they are still three points clear of the relegation zone, and coach Alberto Gilardino seems to be secure in his job.

Juventus should be able to grind out a victory in Liguria, but the Rossoblu in recent seasons have sprung surprises on La Vecchia Signora. The Italian giants should not take the Serie A returnees too lightly.

Genoa vs Juventus: Predicted line-ups

Juventus have Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli serving lengthy bans whereas Mattia De Sciglio and Timothy Weah remain on the treatment table. Gatti is also one yellow card away from serving a ban. Meanwhile, Genoa are missing Kevin Strootman due to injury and Koni De Winter is close to being suspended after accumulating four yellow cards so far in 2023/24.

Allegri can rely on his defensive trio of Federico Gatti, Gleison Bremer, and Danilo to keep things tight at the back, while Wojciech Szczesny is trusted in between the sticks. The Tuscan tactician should persist with Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa up front.

Genoa under Alberto Gilardino will be relying on Mateo Retegui and Albert Gudmundsson for goals, but Ruslan Malinovskyi is capable of providing his share from midfield. Mattia Bani makes his return in defence after lay-off with injury.

Genoa predicted XI vs Juventus (3-5-2): Martinez; Dragusin, Bani, Vasquez; Sabelli, Frendrup, Badelj, Malinovskyi, Haps; Retegui, Gudmundsson
