Inter handed cross-city rivals AC Milan a hammering in the first Derby della Madonnina of the 2023/24 Serie A season, running out 5-1 winners at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Matchday 4.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan got the party started early on for Inter, opening the scoring inside five minutes. A thumping second from Marcus Thuram sent Simone Inzaghi‘s side in with a two-goal lead at the break. Rafael Leao pulled one back for Milan, which forced Inter to pause their celebrations temporarily, but they responded with goals from Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu and Davide Frattesi to seal a memorable Milan Derby win.
The win put the Rossoneri’s perfect start to the new season to an emphatic end, allowing the Nerazzurri to maintain their 100% record.
