Inter will look to carry their incredible Serie A form into the Champions League on Tuesday night as they take on Spanish side Atletico Madrid in the round of 16.

The Nerazzurri look to be running away with the title in Serie A and are certainly one of the most confident teams in Europe right now, but Atletico Madrid are going to pose them some real problems at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in this intriguing clash.

Diego Simeone‘s side are having a fairly unspectacular season so far in La Liga, sitting in fourth place and showing no sign of forcing themselves into a title race. There is only one team in with a chance of taking fourth from them, so they could decide to focus heavily on the Champions League.

Inter vs Atletico Madrid: Predicted lineups

Simone Inzaghi chose to rest both Matteo Darmian and Federico Dimarco at the weekend so they are both expected to start. Francesco Acerbi has a slight calf injury but he should recover in time to face Atleti. Davide Frattesi is fit again which means that Juan Cuadrado is the only injured player.

The situation is more bleak for Atletico Madrid as Gabriel Paulista, Cesar Azpilicueta and Thomas Lemar are all out, and Alvaro Motata is also not expected to play. There is still a lot of threat in this team though with the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Memphis Depay, Marcos Llorente and Angel Correa getting amongst the goals recently.

Inter predicted XI vs Atletico Madrid (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro.

Atletico Madrid predicted XI vs Inter (3-4-1-2): Oblak; Savic, Witsel, Hermoso; Llorente, Barrios, De Paul, Koke, Lino; Griezmann, Depay.
