It was a narrow escape for Inter, who needed Davide Frattesi to secure the win against Hellas Verona on Serie A Matchday 19, whilst Thomas Henry squandered a chance to earn a shock draw.

Inter won 2-1 against Hellas Verona at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Serie A Matchday 19, temporarily taking their lead at the top of the table to five points.

Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring in the first half after controlling a fine pass from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and slotting the ball past Lorenzo Montipo in the Gialloblu goal. However, Ondrej Duda provided a cross from the right for substitute Thomas Henry to equalise in the second half.

Davide Frattesi came on as a substitute and made it 2-1 to Inter, but Henry wasted a chance to score another equaliser when his late penalty hit the post. This victory takes the Nerazzurri to 48 points whereas Hellas Verona remain in the relegation zone.
