Alexis Sanchez seems set to return to Inter a year after leaving the Italian giants with Joaquin Correa being loaned to Marseille as part of the deal.
Correa has lost the trust of coach Simone Inzaghi and the Biscione are likely to bring back the 34-year-old Chilean forward after an impressive season with French giants Olympique Marseille.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inzaghi no longer has faith in Correa, whom he has known since coaching the forward at Lazio. It has come to a point that he preferred to replace star striker Lautaro Martinez with midfielder Davide Frattesi and move Henrikh Mkhitaryan into a more advanced role rather than grant playing time to the Argentine in the victory against Monza.
Inter have had difficulty selling Correa
It is evident that Correa is not wanted at Inter anymore but they have struggled to find a club interested in purchasing the Argentinian forward. Due to the lack of interested buyers, they will have to settle for a loan deal.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on Wednesday night, that loan deal has been struck with Marseille and it will see Sanchez head in the other direction.
The 29-year-old has found the back of the net just 10 times in 77 competitive matches for the Nerazzurri since he joined from Lazio in the summer of 2021 and he has often wandered around anonymously in many games.
Meanwhile, Alexis impressed in his solitary season with Marseille scoring 14 goals in Ligue 1, scoring twice in the Coupe de France, and producing another two strikes in the Champions League.

Inter can trust Sanchez more than Correa
Inzaghi can be grateful to Sanchez because he scored the winning goal for Inter in the 2021 Supercoppa Italiana victory against Juventus, which was the first trophy that the former Lazio coach won in charge of the Nerazzurri.
Although he will turn 35 years old in September, the Chilean forward brings experience and quality. He scored 20 goals and supplied 23 assists in 109 competitive games in his first spell for the Nerazzurri, and he is the type of player who can make an impact late in games.
The lackadaisical attitude of Correa has frustrated Inter fans, and although he is a player that usually comes off the bench, he is seen as a liability. Despite being nearly six years older, Alexis doesn’t look like a player in the twilight of his career.
