Inter vs Monza: Preview, kick-off time and where to watch on TV and online

Inter lost a staggering 12 games in Serie A last season so they will be desperate to get off to the best possible start when they host Monza on Saturday night.

Having endured a pretty torrid Serie A season in 2022/23, Inter will be looking to get nowhere near the 12 league games that they lost last season. Their first test comes at home against Monza.

The Nerazzurri have had quite a mixed summer with some very exciting arrivals and some others that have caused fans to raise their eyebrows. The major departure was Andre Onana as he signed for Manchester United, but his replacement is set to start straight away.

Monza come into their second-ever Serie A season without former owner Silvio Berlusconi, who passed away earlier this year. Having had a very good campaign in 2022/23, Monza are not easy to read coming into this season.

Inter vs Monza: Predicted line-ups

There are a handful of new players that could feasibly make their debut for Inter on Saturday evening against Monza, but there are two who have a much better chance than others. They are Marcus Thuram in the attack and Yann Sommer in goal. The likes of Juan Cuadrado, Davide Frattesi, Yann Aurel Bisseck and Emil Audero should be on the bench.

Roberto Gagliardini should get the chance to start against his old team at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, along with Danilo D’Ambrosio who made the same move this summer. The Carboni brothers, Valentin and Franco, are both on loan from Inter and should make the Monza bench. To add more confusion, Andrea Carboni, no relation, is expected to start.

Inter predicted XI vs Monza (3-5-2): Sommer; Darmian, De Vrij, Bastoni,; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro

Monza predicted XI vs Inter (3-4-1-2): Di Gregorio; Caldirola, Mari, A. Carboni; Ciurria, Gagliardini, Pessina, D’Ambrosio; Mota; Colpani, Maric
