Matchday 16 of Serie A was a good one for Inter as Simone Inzaghi‘s side ensured they would spend Christmas at the top of the Serie A table by pulling four points clear of Juventus, while Bologna moved into fourth place by beating AS Roma at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Juventus‘ draw at Genoa on Friday night opened the door for Inter, the Nerazzurri went away to Lazio and won 2-0. AC Milan won 3-0 at home to Monza to stay third. Also in the race for Europe, Napoli beat Cagliari 2-1, Atalanta came from behind to win 4-1 at home to Salernitana, and Fiorentina beat Hellas Verona 1-0.

Elsewhere, Lecce beat Frosinone 2-1, Torino beat Empoli 1-0, and Udinese and Sassuolo shared four goals.
