Juventus’ United States pre-season tour: The final chance for some to impress Massimiliano Allegri

There are so many question marks hanging over Juventus and the playing squad right now, which means the tour in the United States could be the last chance for some players to secure their place in Massimiliano Allegri's plans.

If there is any team that needs to ensure they get their pre-season just right ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, it is Juventus. Massimiliano Allegri knows that he must get his side challenging for the Serie A title again.

During the 2023 summer transfer window, there are a lot of faces within the Juventus squad who are looking ahead to the 2024 UEFA European Championship in Germany.

That is one reason to ensure 2023/24 is a big season, but in a more immediate sense, there are lots of Juventus players who need to perform in the friendlies to make sure that they are not shipped out before the campaign has even begun.

Those who have returned to the club after being away on loan, and those who underperformed in Serie A last season, will all have a chance in Massimiliano Allegri‘s eyes.

A number of things remain up in the air regarding the squad, but for Allegri, nothing will be concrete until his side’s time in the United States is over. He will ensure every player is given a chance to prove themselves, as La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Nearly everybody will be under consideration with the current state of affairs in Turin. It is well known that the Old Lady have several financial issues to overcome, which is the main reason why there are very few players who will be at the club for definite next season.

As such it means the likes of Kenan Yildiz, Dean Huijsen, Filippo Ranocchia, Nicolo Rovella and Andrea Cambiaso could be given a chance to make a name for themselves within this tour, and potentially give Allegri reasons to keep them around next season.

Redemption in the United States for Paul Pogba?

Paul Pogba‘s future will be a major story and talking point during Juventus‘ tour of the United States. His talent is there for all to see, though due to injuries it hasn’t been seen enough for the past few years.

Juventus took a huge risk with Pogba’s return, with the Frenchman being given the biggest contract in the squad, although there was no transfer fee as he was out of contract with Manchester United.

Unfortunately for the Bianconeri, the midfielder isn’t the same player as the one they parted ways with in 2016. Whilst he will be given a chance in the United States, his future seems to lie elsewhere, with Gazzetta reporting that the club will accept a fee of €10 million.
