Juventus 1-1 AS Roma: Goals, highlights and report

Dybala claimed an important assist to help AS Roma come from behind to draw away at Juventus on Saturday evening.

Juventus and AS Roma played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in Serie A at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday evening. Dusan Vlahovic gave Juve the lead extremely early with a free-kick but Tammy Abraham headed the Giallorossi level in the second half.

It took less than two minutes for Juventus to take the lead as they were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the Roma box.

Vlahovic stepped up and hit an incredible free-kick into the top corner which clipped the underside of Rui Patricio’s bar.

The Bianconeri thought their lead was doubled in the 25th minute when Vlahovic covered lots of ground with the ball at his feet before playing it wide to Cuadrado. The Colombian then laid it back to Manuel Locatelli on the edge of the box who swept it in superbly.

Massimiliano Irrati was then called to the monitor and the goal was chalked off for a very slight handball from Vlahovic in the build-up.

Abraham equalises for AS Roma away at Juventus

Despite being by far the second-best side, Roma got back on level terms with 20 minutes left to play. A corner found its way to Paulo Dybala at the back post who hooked the ball into the box where Abraham was waiting to power in a header from close range.

Dybala fails to make his mark against Juventus

This was Dybala’s first game against Juventus since he played his final game for the club in tears at the Allianz Stadium at the end of last season. Whilst he did assist Abraham’s equaliser, the Argentine was a peripheral figure until he was taken off with just over 10 minutes left in the game.

Both teams were threatening to find a winning goal but in the end the spoils were shared and both sides remain unbeaten so far in Serie A.
