Juventus vs Atalanta: Preview, kick-off time and where to watch on TV and online – Serie A 2023/24

-

Juventus will host Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium on Serie A Matchday 28, and both teams will be looking to rediscover some domestic form after recent defeats.

The Bianconeri are second with 57 points, and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Napoli in the previous round of action. They are just one point ahead of AC Milan in third place, but they are a whopping 15 points behind Serie A leaders Inter.

La Dea are sixth on 46 points, but they have lost their last two matches domestically: 4-0 against Inter and 2-1 against Bologna. These have dented their Champions League hopes slightly, and their coach Gian Piero Gasperini has lamented his team’s packed schedule of recent weeks. Atalanta travelled to Portugal and held Sporting CP to a 1-1 draw in the Europa League on Wednesday evening.

Although Juventus are the stronger team on paper, they are not grinding out results like they were in previous months. Despite the two defeats in Serie A, Atalanta suffered them against in-form teams, and if there is a time for them to spring a surprise, this may be it.

Juventus vs Atalanta: Predicted line-ups

Juventus will miss Dusan Vlahovic due to suspension and Arkadiusz Milik should start in attack with Federico Chiesa. Brazilian defender Danilo should also be fit to start again in defence, relegating his compatriot Alex Sandro to the bench.

Meanwhile, the Bianconeri have a few casualties to deal with as the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Weston McKennie, and Mattia Perin remain on the sidelines. With these absentees, Fabio Miretti and Carlos Alcaraz should retain their places in midfield.

Atalanta will miss wing-back Emil Holm due to suspension, while Marten De Roon, Davide Zappacosta, and Ademola Lookman are one yellow card away from suspension. Defenders Jose Luis Palomino and Isak Hien are out injured.

Gasperini started Gianluca Scamacca and Aleksey Miranchuk in the draw against Sporting CP, but he will likely bring Teun Koopmeiners and Charles De Ketelaere back into the starting line-up for the Juventus clash.

Juventus predicted XI vs Atalanta (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Cambiaso, Miretti, Locatelli, Alcaraz, Kostic; Chiesa, Milik
