In the grand scheme of great Derby D’Italia fixtures, the 2023/24 Serie A Matchday 13 meeting of Juventus and Inter will not be remembered as one of the best, with the two sides sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Stadium.
It very much looked to be a meeting of two sides battling it out at the top of the Serie A table, and both sides showed the defensive resilience that is largely behind their respective positions in front of the chasing pack.
Juventus took the lead in the 27th minute through Dusan Vlahovic after some combination play between Federico Chiesa and the No.9, leading to the Serbian finishing well into the far corner.
Inter drew level five minutes later with an excellent team goal. It all started with Yann Sommer, and ended when Nicolo Barella eventually slipped Marcus Thuram through, who then found Lautaro Martinez in the box and the World Cup winner finished brilliantly into the bottom corner.
The result leaves Inter top of the table and Juventus second, but the Old Lady can overtake the Nerazzurri on Matchday 14 when they face Monza on Friday, December 1, before Inter are in action away at champions Napoli on Sunday, December 3.
