The Kenan Yildiz haircut saga: Brother of Juventus Women midfielder cuts 18-year-old’s hair after Allegri’s orders

After Kenan Yildiz's Juventus debut at Udinese, Massimiliano Allegri said he'd have to get a haircut after "touching it 100 times" in five minutes. The next day, Yildiz followed orders and got his hair chopped.

Juventus have a number of exciting young players on their books this 2023/24 Serie A season, but few more so than 18-year-old Kenan Yildiz. There is a lot of expectation placed on the German-born Turkish youth international’s shoulders, and first-team coach Massimiliano Allegri is expected to use him over the course of the campaign.

Having spent time at Bayern Munich before making the move to Turin in 2022, where he first featured as part of the Juventus Next Gen side, Yildiz has been impressing everybody at the Bianconeri in his time there, Allegri included.

Kenan Yildiz’s Juventus debut

At the beginning of  2023/24, Yildiz was named as part of Juventus’ first-team squad for a number of their pre-season friendlies, and it became clear that he would be an option for Allegri throughout the season.

Yildiz was then named in Juventus’ matchday squad for their season opener away at Udinese, starting on the bench at the Dacia Arena. With the Old Lady leading comfortably, the 18-year-old was brought on for his Serie A debut with five minutes of the 90 left to play, replacing Dusan Vlahovic.

Massimiliano Allegri and Kenan Yildiz: The hair saga

After Yildiz‘s cameo from the bench, the Juventus boss was asked about the youngster’s debut in his post-match press conference and responded in typical Allegri fashion.

“Tomorrow he’ll have to go and cut his hair,” Allegri said. “He came on and touched it 100 times, so tomorrow he’ll have to go and have it cut. But he’s a player with a lot of quality.”

Although Allegri‘s comment was laughed off at the time by almost everybody who heard it, Yildiz took it seriously. The next day, the teenager shared a video of himself getting a fresh cut.

Curiously, the hairdresser used had Juventus ties, too. Matteo Rosucci, brother of Italy and Juventus Women midfielder Martina Rosucci, was the person to cut Yildiz‘s hair.
