Lazio vs Celtic: Preview, kick-off time, and where to watch on TV and online – Champions League 2023/24

Lazio can secure their place in the Champions League round of 16 on Matchday 5 with a win against Celtic, but they will need Atletico Madrid to do them a favour against Feyenoord.

Lazio could confirm qualification into the knockout stages of the Champions League with a victory against Celtic on Champions League Group E Matchday 5. However, Atletico Madrid have to beat Feyenoord in the late kick-off if Lazio’s qualification is to be secured this week.

The Biancocelesti have to get back to winning ways after a shock defeat against Salernitana on Serie A Matchday 13. They currently sit 11th in Serie A and qualification into the next stage of the Champions League would soften that fact considerably.

However, the Aquile have not lost at home since August 27 when they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Genoa on Serie A Matchday 2, and the shock of Saturday’s loss has to spur them on to victory on Tuesday evening.

Given what is at stake in Tuesday night’s Champions League fixture, Maurizio Sarri could look to field a more attacking lineup. As such, with Matias Vecino suspended, Daichi Kamada may step into the midfield instead of Danilo Cataldi solely to offer more attacking impetus.

The Biancocelesti will be without Nicolo Casale and Alessio Romagnoli -the duo will miss the game through injury. As such, this may mean Mario Gila is offered his second appearance for the club in all competitions and first ever in the Champions League

Celtic will be without three key players; Reo Hatate and Liel Abada both miss out through injury, and Daizen Maeda will be absent after picking up a red card against Atletico Madrid on Group E Matchday 3.
