Inter defeated Lazio 2-0 on Serie A Matchday 16 at the Stadio Olimpico, and it was a victory that allowed the Nerazzurri go four points clear of Juventus at the top of the table.
Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring five minutes before half-time after capitalising on a dreadful back-pass from Adam Marusic, then dribbling around Aquile goalkeeper Ivan Provedel before slotting the ball in from a tight angle. Marcus Thuram doubled the lead in the second half after running onto a Nicolo Barella pass and producing a low strike that went through a few opponents. Manuel Lazzari received a yellow card in the latter stages of the match for dissent.
This win takes Inter to 41 points whereas Lazio remain equal 10th with Monza on 21.
