Pressure continues to pile on Stefano Pioli on the AC Milan bench after his Rossoneri managed to let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 away at Lecce on Serie A Matchday 12.

Milan led inside half an hour in Puglia as Olivier Giroud marked his 100th appearance for the club with the game’s opening goal, and Tijjani Reijnders then doubled their lead just seven minutes later. With Milan cruising at the break, there looked to be no way back for the hosts.

Nicola Sansone pulled a goal back for Lecce after 66 minutes to halve the deficit, and Lameck Banda remarkably levelled four minutes later. Giroud was later sent off, and it took Mike Maignan brilliance to deny the Giallorossi a third with a fine stop, and the hosts also hit the woodwork. Roberto Piccoli looked to have won the game deep in stoppage time, but VAR intervened and his strike was ruled out for what was deemed to be a foul on Malick Thiaw.

AC Milan are now four games without a win in Serie A, while Lecce avoided a third straight defeat.
