The race for promising Italian midfielder Davide Frattesi seems to be heating up, with AS Roma, Juventus and Manchester United all ready to fight it out for his signature this summer.

It is no secret that Frattesi is likely to move on in the summer window with teams such as Napoli, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter all previously linked.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma reportedly made contact in both last summer and the January transfer windows over a move for Frattesi, with the Giallorossi already having a 30% clause of any future sale of their former youth player.

Juventus lead the race, Man United watching closely

Despite the riches of the Premier League circling Frattesi, Juventus are believed to be the frontrunners to secure his signature with the Turin giants reportedly already in advanced talks with Sassuolo. A rumoured €40 million price tag is being discussed.

It is also understood that Manchester United have recently sent scouts to watch the young Italian midfielder, and see him as an ideal addition to their ageing midfield.

Frattesi’s form leads to major interest

Frattesi has been in fine form for Sassuolo this season, scoring six goals in 28 Serie A appearances. Frattesi is a versatile midfielder who can play deep or further afield even as a number 10, he is a constant threat in the box and makes clever runs behind opposition lines.

The Neroverdi star has impressed in Serie A season this with his box-to-box style, often playing on the right side of a three-man central midfield in a 4-3-3 formation. His technical ability should not be overlooked as he is a capable dribbler who often drives forward and gets his team further up the pitch.

The 23-year-old’s all-round ability is no doubt what has attracted several suitors, it will be interesting to see whether the Italian international chooses to continue his development abroad or at home in Serie A.
