Monza 4-2 AC Milan: Goals, highlights and report – Serie A 2023/24

A second half comeback from AC Milan was not enough as they surprisingly lost 4-2 away to Monza on Serie A Matchday 25, squandering a chance to jump into second place.


AC Milan suffered a shock 4-2 defeat away to Monza on Serie A Matchday 25.

The Brianzoli scored twice late in the first half with Matteo Pessina converting a penalty, then Mota doubled the lead with a calm finish. Rossoneri striker Luka Jovic was sent off early in the second half after hitting Armando Izzo.

Remarkably, AC Milan still pulled off a comeback with Olivier Giroud scoring from close range and Christian Pulisic producing an excellent strike. Substitute Warren Bondo won it shortly after for Monza with a powerful effort from just outside of the penalty area, and Lorenzo Colombo sealed the win in injury time.

The Rossoneri in remain in third place with 52 points after this result whilst the Brianzoli are 11th on 33.
