Napoli had to win a little bit differently away at fellow Campania side Salernitana on Matchday 19 but did just that as they claimed a 1-0 victory that temporarily sees their lead at the top of the Serie A table extend to 12 points over second-placed AC Milan.
It was a solitary goal from captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo that secured the three points for the Partenopei on Saturday, with the right-back finishing off after being nicely assisted by Victor Osimhen.
The win sees Napoli pull further clear and strengthen their position at Serie A’s summit, which had already been boosted by Juventus‘ 15-point deduction being handed down by the Federal Court of Appeal. That, of course, followed Napoli’s 5-1 win over the Old Lady last time out in Serie A.
