Canadian music superstar Drake has doubled down on his newfound love of Napoli, after being seen sporting training wear of the Serie A club.
The ‘One Dance’ singer attracted attention recently when he posted a photo of himself in a classic Partenopei training jacket, and it led to a mixture of pride and consternation amongst the club’s fans, with fears that the infamous “Drake curse” could derail their season.
As reported by Calcionapoli1926.it, Drake‘s second Instagram post also showed him taking an interest in the club, and this appears to be a genuine interest due to the historical significance of the tracksuits he sought out. The Canadian is known to have a love of the video game FIFA, which he has referred to in past songs, and may have found a love of Napoli through the game.
In-form Napoli attracting attention
Napoli are enjoying a magnificent season under coach Luciano Spalletti and sit an incredible eight points clear at the top of the table after just 15 matches, whilst they remain undefeated.
The brilliance of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has earned Napoli a whole host of new admirers, whilst the eternal links to the legacy of the iconic Diego Maradona have endeared the club to many across the world, so perhaps Drake is no different.
The Azzurri are due to return to action in Serie A when they visit Inter at the start of January, and if they can maintain their form, Drake may well be welcomed to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for the Scudetto party.

The Drake curse to strike Napoli?
In 2015, a meeting with Drake came as Serena Williams missed out on the US Open, denying her the chance of winning every Grand Slam, and MMA fighter Kamaru Usman lost his belt in August of this year after being seen with him.
It also happened to the Golden State Warriors, boxer Anthony Joshua and MMA star Conor McGregor when they each appeared unstoppable in their respective fields.
However, whilst some fans have welcomed the intrigue and attention of a global superstar, others are perhaps understandably fearing the worst about their new affiliation with Drake.
Napoli fans are amongst the most superstitious in Italy at the best of times, and so any reason to threaten their Scudetto hopes are being met with wariness.
Despite holding such a mammoth lead, there are the fears that the Drake curse could see Napoli and Spalletti suffer an almighty collapse and let a first Serie A title since 1990 slip.
Drake’s World Cup bet
Drake had Argentina worried ahead of the World Cup final when he placed a $1 million bet on Lionel Messi and co. to win football’s biggest honour in Qatar ahead of their final against France.
Although Argentina won on penalties, Drake still lost his bet as it was based on a result after 90 minutes. It seems, then, that the Drake curse lives on.
