Napoli will have a second chance at sealing their first scudetto in over 30 years against Udinese on Matchday 33 of the 2022/23 Serie A season and although the Partenopei couldn’t be playing further away from home, their Stadio Diego Armando Maradona has sold out for the occasion.
Luciano Spalletti saw his side stumble at the Maradona against Salernitana on Matchday 32, missing the chance to wrap up what would have been the earliest-ever Serie A title with six games to spare. Instead, they’ll have to share the record with a number of sides should they get over the line in Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

Stadio Maradona sold out despite Napoli playing away from home
Napoli will expect to be crowned as Serie A champions by the end of Matchday 33, knowing that very little is needed for their lead at the top to be insurmountable for second-placed Lazio. The Biancocelesti beat Sassuolo 2-0 earlier in the week to mean that the champions-elect still have work to do to seal their scudetto win.
To make the inevitable title triumph even more memorable, Napoli have decided to open their Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for fans, and tickets have sold out. The game will be shown on big screens there.
By potentially sealing the Serie A title approximately 850 kilometres away in Udine, only Turin could possibly be further away from Campania, making the missed opportunity at home to Salernitana last time out all the more frustrating for Napoli fans. By opening the stadium, the Partenopei are hoping to recreate some of what they missed out on because of that late Boulaye Dia leveller.
With kick-off set for 20:45 CEST, gates will open almost three hours earlier at 18:00.
What do Napoli need against Udinese to win the Serie A title?

Napoli come into Matchday 33 with a huge chance of sealing the scudetto for the first time in their history without the late Diego Maradona in their squad. It could have been won on Wednesday evening if Lazio had failed to win at home to Sassuolo, but Maurizio Sarri’s side took care of business with a 2-0 win.
Now, Napoli just need a point at Udinese to finally get their hands on the Serie A title.
