It was a scintillating performance from Napoli, demonstrating that they were not distracted by the recent social media controversy concerning star striker Victor Osimhen as they defeated Udinese 4-1 on Serie A Matchday 6.
Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski opened the scoring from the penalty spot, then Osimhen doubled the score from close range before the break. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored his first goal of the season and the Partenopei’s third of the match in the second half before Lazar Samardzic scored a goal of great individual quality for the Zebrette. It was nothing more than a consolation though as substitute Giovanni Simeone added a fourth for the Neapolitans.
The victory temporarily takes Napoli to equal fifth in the Serie A table with Lecce on 11 points, whereas Udinese are equal 17th with Salernitana and Empoli.
