Napoli 1-1 Union Berlin: Goals, highlights, and report – Champions League 2023/24

The pressure remains on Napoli in the Champions League after they failed to beat a Union Berlin team that are desperately out of form, leaving Group C wide open.

Napoli were held to a 1-1 draw against Group C bottom club Union Berlin in Matchday 4 of the Champions League, as they failed to impress at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Rudi Garcia‘s side looked to have scored midway through the first half when Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa tapped in from close range, but a VAR check saw the goal chalked off for a push. However, just minutes later Matteo Politano headed the hosts into the lead, before David Fofana equalised in the second half.

The draw leaves Napoli in second place behind Real Madrid, but increases the pressure on their Matchday 5 clash against the Spanish club as Braga look to close in. Union Berlin, meanwhile, have recorded their first ever Champions League point.
