Parma Women sack coach Ulderici after poor start to Serie A Femminile season

-

Parma Women have taken the decision to sack coach Fabio Ulderici after just eight rounds of Serie A Femminile fixtures. The Crociati have had a tough start to the season and currently find themselves second from bottom in the table.

Ulderici had moved to Emilia-Romagna having coached Empoli Ladies, whose place in Serie A Femminile was purchased by Parma ahead of the 2022/23. Ulderici and his staff were moved across.

Parma Calcio announce that they have relieved Mister Fabio Ulderici from his position of head coach of the women’s first team,” read a Parma statement on Sunday evening.

“The club express their utmost gratitude to him for his commitment and professionalism during his time with the club and wish him the best for his future career.”

Parma Women’s struggles in Serie A Femminile

With a completely new team constructed by signing players from all around Serie A Femminile and abroad, Parma have struggled to form a coherent side so far. It is, though, still very early days in a project that has only played a handful of competitive matches still.

A 4-1 loss to Inter Women on the opening matchday suggested that there was still a lot of work to be done to get the team up to scratch, but a historic win over Sassuolo in their first-ever game at the Stadio Ennio Tardini generated a lot of hope around the side. Sassuolo have since proven to be a long way off the side that threated to enter the title race last season though, and the Neroverde are the only team Parma sit above in the table.

Recent losses to Pomigliano and Como proved to be fatal for Ulderici, with those two sides having been expected to be the weakest in the division this season. Parma were hammered 4-1 by Como and lost 3-1 at home to Pomigliano.

Parma drew 0-0 with Sampdoria in Matchday 8, with president Kyle Krause in attendance in Liguria. Samp have impressed for much of the season so far.
