The Italy Men’s National Team made it two wins from two for the March internationals with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Ecuador on Sunday night at the Red Bull Arena in New York.

The scoring was opened with just three minutes on the clock as AS Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini hit a superb strike on the bounce into the top corner after Federico Dimarco‘s free-kick had hit the Ecuadorian wall.

Despite fashioning plenty of excellent chances with players like Nicolo Zaniolo, Dimarco and Giacomo Raspadori all missing, Italy‘s lead would not be doubled until the 94th minute. A very smart pass from Davide Frattesi released Inter teammate Nicolo Barella who finished superbly.

Having beaten Venezuela 2-1 in the first friendly, it has been a successful trip to the United States of America for the Azzurre. They are next in action in June for the final two friendlies before Euro 2023, which will be against Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
