Paul Pogba has had a torrid time since returning to Juventus in the summer of 2022, but he remains upbeat and confident that he can make an impact with the Bianconeri once again.

La Vecchia Signora initially signed him in on a free transfer from Manchester United in 2012, and he went on to win four Serie A titles as well as feature in the 2015 Champions League final defeat to Barcelona. The Red Devils acquired him back for €105 million in 2016 before leaving for Juventus again on a free transfer at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

Pogba missed the first half of this season due to a knee injury, and after making 10 competitive appearances, his campaign came to an end after coming off injured in the 2-0 victory against Cremonese in Serie A.

Pogba grateful for support from Juventus fans

Pogba uploaded a video onto his social media accounts thanking Juventus and their fans for his support since returning to Turin as well as his time on the sidelines.

“It was tough, especially mentally,” he said.

“I tried to take refuge in what I love, which is playing football, working on the pitch, but that wasn’t possible because physically I had a lot of bad luck. Now I just have to be patient.

“This year was a year not to be forgotten, in which I learnt a lot, I gained a lot of experience thanks to everything that happened and I think it will help me come back even stronger.

“Many thanks to all of you, for your support. Mentally and physically I will do my best to come back to the top, get back on the field to help my team, the club, and win titles, because that’s what I came back for.

“That’s it, just to tell you that I won’t give up, I won’t give up. I’m going to give it my all, thank you all again.”

Pogba still has plenty of time to revive career

Contracted to Juventus until the end of June 2026, Pogba will have plenty of opportunities to make his second spell with the Italian giants memorable in its own way.

When he arrived in 2012, he was a raw midfielder, but he had talented and experienced teammates like Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio, and Arturo Vidal to serve as his mentors. Now he is the elder statesman, who can guide the likes of Fabio Miretti and Nicolo Fagioli.

Juventus will go through some tough seasons if the punishments for capital gains fraud are anything to go by. However, a fit Pogba could provide some positives with his great passing range and thunderous shooting.
