Romelu Lukaku’s transfer options: Inter, AC Milan and Juventus all hold interest in Chelsea striker

Romelu Lukaku certainly sees his future away from Chelsea, and the Premier League side agrees. Any of Inter, AC Milan or Juventus could offer the Belgian a way back to Italy.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku wants to return to Inter, but Italian rivals AC Milan and Juventus are reportedly planning to lure him to their respective clubs.

The 30-year-old Belgium international spent the 2022/23 season on loan with the Nerazzurri, and he was able to regain his fitness and form in the latter stages of the campaign, featuring in the Champions League final defeat to Manchester City and winning the Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina.

According to Calciomercato.com, Chelsea want to sell Lukaku in the summer and the striker has the desire to leave. However, he has no interest in playing in Saudi Arabia or any other lucrative non-European league, and he is adamant about an Inter return.

Despite this, the Nerazzurri could have difficulty trying to bring him back on a permanent basis, and that could put AC Milan and Juventus in better positions to negotiate with the English club.

Inter not in a position to purchase Lukaku outright

Inter are not in a position to offer any more than €30 million for Lukaku at the moment so they will have to sell players before entering negotiations with Chelsea.

With Marcelo Brozovic joining Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, Andre Onana linked with a move to Manchester United, and Robin Gosens expected to leave, the Nerazzurri should be able to bring some much-needed capital into the club.

Inter want to sign Lukaku on loan with an obligation to be bought outright, but Chelsea are very eager to sell him, and get his gross salary of €16m off their books. This could bring AC Milan into the discussion, who have already sold Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali to Newcastle and have the money to buy the Belgian striker if necessary.

Juventus propose Lukaku and Vlahovic swap

According to The Telegraph, as reported by calciomercato.com, Juventus are contemplating the signature of Lukaku, and they would consider swapping Dusan Vlahovic for the 30-year-old.

The Bianconeri were interested in the Belgian striker as far back as 2019, when Paulo Dybala was linked with Inter, but Lukaku joined the Nerazzurri instead. Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is an admirer of Lukaku and thinks that he would suit his tactics.

Like Milan, the thing that might count against Juventus is that the Belgium international may still refuse to move to a rival of the Biscione. His mind is set on Inter, but if the Nerazzurri cannot satisfy Chelsea, the West London club will consider offers elsewhere because they are desperate to sell him.
