Runaway Serie A leaders Napoli travel north to face Sassuolo as they continue their march toward their first scudetto since the days of Diego Maradona.

Napoli’s march to the Serie A title may soon become a stroll, with everybody around the runaway leaders dropping points regularly. But Luciano Spalletti will ensure that his players aren’t thinking any further ahead than Friday’s Matchday 23 fixture against a pesky Sassuolo.

Napoli sit with a comfortable 15-point lead at the top of the Serie A table as we move further into the second half of the season, but they will be aware that Sassuolo are capable of giving even the strongest sides problems – most recently seen as Alessio Dionisi’s Neroverdi won 5-2 away at outgoing champions AC Milan and then beat Champions League hopefuls Atalanta.

Sassuolo v Napoli: Predicted line-ups

Most sides in Napoli’s position might start to think about squad rotation with a title fight and a European knockout tie to come, but it’s unlikely that Luciano Spalletti will be risking anything when it comes to their Serie A ambitions and he should go with a full-strength side in Reggio Emilia on Matchday 23.

Giacomo Raspadori, though, will miss the trip to take on his former club through injury and is expected to be out for a month.

Sassuolo are missing their biggest star in Domenico Berardi, though the extent of his injury is not yet known. Mert Muldur and Jeremy Toljan are also sidelined.

Sassuolo predicted XI v Napoli (4-3-3): Consigli; Zortea, Erlic, Tressoldi, Rogerio; Frattesi, Obiang, Bajrami; Alvarez, Defrel, Lauriente.

Napoli predicted XI v Sassuolo (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Kim, Olivera; Anguissa, Lobotka, Zielinski; Politano, Osimhen, Kvaratskhelia.
