Serie A 2022/23: Team of the Week – Matchday 30

It was not a Serie A weekend where the attackers shone but some did enough to get into our Team of the Week for Matchday 30.

Napoli had their lead cut at the top of the Serie A table on Matchday 30 after drawing 0-0 against Hellas Verona while Lazio won 3-0 against Spezia.

AS Roma defeated Udinese 3-0, AC Milan were held to a 1-1 draw against Bologna, and Juventus suffered a 1-0 defeat to Sassuolo.

Elsewhere, Monza earned a shock 1-0 win against Inter, Fiorentina drew 1-1 with Atalanta, and Cremonese won 1-0 against Empoli.

Serie A 22/23 – Matchday 30 Team of the Week

Andrea Consigli – Sassuolo

The Neroverdi goalkeeper made a few crucial saves to earn a clean sheet in the surprise victory against Juventus.

Leonardo Sernicola – Cremonese

After coming off the bench to score the winning goal against Sampdoria in the previous round, the full-back earned a place in the starting line-up against Empoli, and he supplied the long pass which resulted in Cyriel Dessers scoring the only goal of the game.

Luca Caldirola – Monza

The former Inter youth team player had a fine game in defence against the Nerazzurri and scored the winner for the Brianzoli with a header.

Isak Hien – Hellas Verona

In a game in which defences were on top, the Swede helped the Gialloblu earn a clean sheet against Napoli. Made one block, one interception, and seven clearances.

Jhon Lucumi – Bologna

The Colombian defender was hard to beat at the back for the Felsinei. He had a passing completion rate of 91%, and he also made two blocks, six clearances, and three interceptions.

Maxime Lopez – Sassuolo

Controlled the play for the Neroverdi and limited the effectiveness of his Juventus counterpart Leandro Paredes.

Lorenzo Pellegrini – AS Roma

Although the quantity was lacking, the quality was not. Involved in some of the Giallorossi’s attacking plays and scored his team’s second goal against Udinese.

Luis Alberto – Lazio

Despite not being directly involved in the goals, he was an important part of the Aquile’s attacking play, completing 71 out of 81 passes.

Nicolas Gonzalez – Fiorentina

The Argentinian winger was dangerous on the left flank against Atalanta, winning 14 duels, and completing six dribbles.

Felipe Anderson – Lazio

The Brazilian was involved in the first two Aquile goals, earning the penalty for Ciro Immobile to open the scoring, and then scored the second.

Mattia Zaccagni – Lazio

It was another excellent performance on the left-wing from the Italian forward. Won 12 duels and completed all three dribbles he made.
