Serie A Matchday 22 saw AC Milan get back to winning ways, and after a long wait for Rossoneri fans, as they beat Torino 1-0 at the Stadio San Siro thanks to an Olivier Giroud goal. That was just their second win of 2023, not winning since their year opener at Salernitana.
In the race for the Champions League places, AS Roma stumbled in Salento as they drew 1-1 at Lecce, and Lazio were beaten 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico by an excellent Atalanta side again led by the brilliance of Ademola Lookman and 20-year-old Rasmus Hojlund.
Napoli continued on their march toward the scudetto by beating Serie B-bound Cremonese 3-0, Juventus edged Fiorentina 1-0 in a game filled with VAR and goal-line technology’s involvement, Udinese and Sassuolo played out an exciting 2-2 and Monza won narrowly at Bologna.
Empoli and Spezia played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Tuscany in which both sides saw players sent off on Saturday afternoon.
On Monday evening, Verona claimed three big points as they beat Salernitana 1-0 and Sampdoria held Inter 0-0 at Marassi.
