Serie A 22/23 – Matchday 5 Team of the Week
Mike Maignan – AC Milan
The Frenchman was impressive throughout the Derby della Madonnina, but he truly came to life in the last 25 minutes, making a plethora of fantastic saves as Inter searched in vain for an equaliser.
Roberto Pereyra – Udinese
Provided experience as well as attacking spark from the right wing-back position. The Argentine was involved in the opening goal, which was scored by Destiny Udogie, and he also scored the third goal for the Zebrette.
Rafael Toloi – Atalanta
Solid at the back and adequate with his distribution. Won the most duels in the match against Monza with eight and all four long passes from defence were successful.
Kim Min-jae – Napoli
Effective at the back, limiting the attacking threat of Lazio alongside Amir Rrahmani, and he also scored the equaliser after Mattia Zaccagni had given the Biancocelesti an early lead.
Josh Doig – Hellas Verona
In his first match as a starter for the Gialloblu, the Scottish youngster easily evaded Sampdoria’s experienced right-back Bartosz Bereszynski numerous times and he scored the winning goal. He probably could have scored more if it was not for the saves of Blucerchiati goalkeeper Emil Audero.

Christian Kouame – Fiorentina
The Ivorian dazzled with his pace and creativity, and he scored the equaliser after running onto Riccardo Sottil’s delightful through-ball, then beat Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin with an angled drive.
Sandro Tonali – AC Milan
Impressed with his anticipation as well as his ball distribution, and he supplied the assist for Rafael Leao’s first goal.
Kvicha Kvaratskhelia – Napoli
The Georgian displayed his exquisite talents on the left-wing against Lazio, coming close to scoring twice with some impressive attempts before eventually scoring the winner for the Partenopei in the second half.

Marko Arnautovic – Bologna
Although the Rossoblu are hovering near the relegation zone, the Austrian has been one of their bright spots in the early stages of the 2022/23 season. Arnautovic scored twice in the draw against Spezia, taking him on top of the Serie A goalscoring chart with five goals.
Olivier Giroud – AC Milan
The French veteran thrived on the big stage once again and he is developing a great understanding with left-winger Rafael Leao. He put the Rossoneri 2-1 up in the Milan derby, and he supplied the pass for Leao to go on and score the third Diavolo goal.
Rafael Leao – AC Milan
It was another inspirational performance from the Rossoneri winger. He found the back of the net twice against Inter and he supplied a low cross for Olivier Giroud to score the other Milan goal.
