Serie A 22/23 – Matchday 6 Team of the Week

Samir Handanovic – Inter

The Slovenian veteran turned back the clock with a stellar performance in the Nerazzurri goal, making some impressive saves with both his hands and his legs.

Roger Ibanez – Roma

It was another fine performance in defence for the Brazilian. He made eight clearances and won nine duels against Empoli.

Merih Demiral – Atalanta

Contained the Cremonese forward line with consummate ease and he temporarily put La Dea in front with a header.

Vlad Chiriches – Cremonese

Limited the attacking threat of Luis Muriel for Atalanta and he was composed when bringing the ball out from the back.

Pasquale Mazzocchi – Salernitana

It was an energetic performance from the wing-back, who dominated on the left flank against Juventus and created the opening goal of the game for Antonio Candreva.

Roberto Pereyra – Udinese

With 15 minutes to go and his team trailing by a goal, the experienced Argentine helped inspire the comeback against Sassuolo, supplying two assists.

Marcelo Brozovic – Inter

Although it was not a vintage performance from the Croatia international, he stood up when it mattered most to score the winner against Torino with a tidy finish.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – Lazio

Drew a lot of attention from the Verona players as he was fouled eight times, more than anyone else in the game, and he won 14 duels. Most crucially, he supplied the cross for Ciro Immobile to score the first goal of the match.

Paulo Dybala – Roma

Opened the scoring for the Giallorossi with a fabulous strike from outside of the box and he provided the cross for Tammy Abraham to score the winner.

Beto – Udinese

The Zebrette were 1-0 down against Sassuolo and the Portuguese striker turned the game around. Scored the equaliser with a header from close range and he sealed the victory with a cool finish after running onto a through-ball from Sandi Lovric.

Kvicha Kvaratskhelia – Napoli

Although he didn’t score or provide an assist, the Georgian still produced an excellent performance on the wing, demonstrating his excellent dribbling skills in the win against Spezia.
