There were plenty of twists, turns and shocks in Serie A Matchday 7, and the Serie A Team of the Week reflects the weekend's results.

Serie A Matchday 7 has come to an end with two sides sharing top spot for the international break, with both Napoli and Atalanta leading the rest of the chasing pack. Napoli defeated AC Milan 2-1 while Atalanta share first place with the Partenopei thanks to a 1-0 win away at AS Roma.

Udinese earned a surprising 3-1 victory against Inter, Lazio thrashed Cremonese 4-0, Fiorentina won 2-0 against Hellas Verona, and Monza defeated Juventus by a goal to earn their first-ever Serie A win.

Serie A 22/23 – Matchday 7 Team of the Week

Alex Meret – Napoli

The Partenopei goalkeeper has certainly benefitted from being the first choice in goal this season and he made some crucial interventions in the win against AC Milan.

Armando Izzo – Monza

Played a vital role in the Brianzoli’s historical victory against Juventus, marshalling the defence effectively and occasionally starting attacks from the back.

Giorgio Scalvini – Atalanta

Despite playing for just 45 minutes, the young defender produced a fine game in midfield and scored the winner against Roma.

Jaka Bijol – Udinese

Limited the attacking threat of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and headed in the goal which game the Zebrette the lead against the Nerazzurri.

Kim Min-jae – Napoli

The South Korea international has filled the void left by Kalidou Koulibaly and he produced another superb performance at the back for the Partenopei.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – Lazio

Produced a delicate chip to assist Ciro Immobile for the opening goal against Cremonese and the Serbian midfielder found the back of the net too just before half-time.

Stanislav Lobotka – Napoli

The Slovakian got off to a slow start against AC Milan but he then got into the rhythm of things. His vertical balls forward became an important part of the Partenopei’s attacking play against the Rossoneri.

Nicolo Rovella – Monza

Arrived on loan from Juventus in the transfer window and he had an admirable performance against his parent club. Provided plenty of energy in midfield and he was given the licence to control the midfield.

Jonathan Ikone – Fiorentina

Scored the opening goal of the match against Hellas Verona and he also had a successful pass rate of 100 percent.

Ciro Immobile – Lazio

It was a comprehensive performance from the Italy international. Scored twice in the first half and assisted for the sealer scored by Pedro in the emphatic victory against Cremonese.

Gerard Deulofeu – Udinese

The Spanish forward was in inspired form against Inter. Although he was unfortunate not to find the back of the net, Deulofeu supplied assists for both Jaka Bijol and Tolgay Arslan.
